Bean to Bar
This lesson involves tracing the chocolate journey from bean to bar.
You can split the lesson across two sessions:
Activity A takes about 1 hour, Activity B takes about 50 minutes.
The lesson starts by briefly exploring Mim, a village in Ghana where cocoa is grown. (Mim is explored more fully in a different lesson plan.)
The class is then divided into 10 groups of 3-4 students per group to carry out two activities that trace the chocolate journey from bean to bar. Students match captions and descriptions to photos.
You can use our paid-for Pa Pa Paa photo pack and A3 poster of Mim village for this lesson, but it's not essential. There is also the option to view and print out the photos yourself.
